Franklin "Huzz" Shriver, 75, of Daybrook, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a brief battle with cancer.

He was born in Daybrook the youngest of three sons to Wilson Worly and Bonnie Faye Barr Shriver on May 28, 1938.

Frank worked as a skilled craftsman and carpenter by trade and built and remodled many area homes for friends and family. He retired from Carpenters Local Union 476 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Huzz is survived by his companion, Megan Walker; three children and their spouses, Tanya and Doug Smerdell of Daybrook, Terry and Angelia Shriver of Daybrook, and Tina Bragg of Morgantown. He was blessed with ten grandchildren, Amy Bane & Emily Smerdell, Danielle Larson, Colby, Carson, Maddox, and Presley Shriver, Tyler and Kaelynn Bragg, and Faithlynn Walker; and four great-grandchildren, Parker and Cooper Bane and Addison and Leiana Larson.

Also surviving are one brother and his spouse, Donley "Rusty" and Lois Shriver of Daybrook, as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Michael Shriver and one brother William "Bill" Shriver and 2 nephews.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 6-9 Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with Pastor Jerry Teter officiating. Interment will follow in the Daybrook Cemetery.
