James A. "Pod" Tuttle, 77, of Miracle Run Community, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at his residence.
He was born March 28, 1937 at Miracle Run, a son of the late James C. "Poker" Tuttle and Irene Bane Tuttle.
Mr. Tuttle served in the United States Airforce and retired with 20 years of service and held the rank of SMSGT. After leaving the military he worked as an electrician for Eastern Associated Coal Federal #2 Mine.
He was a member of the Miracle Run United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Scott Tuttle and Tod Tuttle, both of Blacksville; one daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Thomas Walls of Crossroads; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Jewel "Babe" Tuttle; two sisters, Mona Joy "Gab" Copeland of Pentress and Rita Mae Brummage of Morgantown; two grandchildren and their spouses, Andrea & Jason Frashuer of Fayetteville, NC and Evan & Alexis Walls of Jessup, MD; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Frashuer; two brother-in-laws, Allen Wilkinson, Jr. of Carmichaels, PA, Ralph Husk, Jr. of Blacksville; and one sister-in-law, Mary Lou Tuttle of Clarksburg.
Mr. Tuttle was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley Tuttle who died on December 13, 2006; one son, James A. Tuttle, Jr; two sisters, Rose Husk and Lydia "Fuzz" Wilkinson; two brothers, Jack Tuttle and Johnnie "Mouse" Tuttle; two brothers-in-law, Enoch Copeland and James Brummage; and a sister-in-law, Dorothy "Dot" Tuttle.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, from 6-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Rev. Sherry Rawlings officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery on Miracle Run.
