Fred Tuttle’s life came to an end on Friday June 27, 2014 after dealing with some health issues for several years. He was born November 24, 1932, in Miracle Run, a son of the late James C. “Poker” Tuttle and Irene Bane Tuttle.
Mr. Tuttle served in the U.S. Army, was a member of the United Mine Workers, an avid golfer and member of the Dunkard Valley Golf Course, loved hunting, was always found working hard, and loved keeping up on the appearance of the farm.
He was a member of the Miracle Run United Methodist Church.
Mr. Tuttle was a loving husband, dad, pap, and brother to his wife Jewel “Babe” Tuttle; one son Richard D. Tuttle; one daughter Theresa and spouse Greg Swisher; three grandchildren Dillon Swisher, Chance Swisher, and Heath and spouse Lesly Skinner; one great-grandchild Thomas Skinner; and two sisters Mona Joy “Gab” Copeland and Rita Mae Brummage.
In addition to his parents Mr. Tuttle was preceded in death by an infant son Fredie Carl Tuttle, Jr., two sisters Rose Husk and Lydia “Fuzz” Wilkinson, and three brothers Jack Tuttle, Johnnie “Mouse” Tuttle, and James “Pod” Tuttle.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Blacksville, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, with the Rev. Sherry Rawlings officiating. Interment will follow in the Park Cemetery on Miracle Run.
