Andrew G. (Rick) Kolat, peacefully passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, having lost his battle with cancer.
He was born February 14, 1953 in Waynesburg, to the late Andrew Kolat and Alma Roupe Kolat.
Rick was a lifelong resident of Waynesburg, PA.
Surviving are one daughter, Erica Kolat of Canonsburg; one son, Ricky Kolat and his wife, Jennifer of Hundred; three grandsons, Danny, Lane, and Adam Kolat; one sister, Dolly Ornduff of Waynesburg; a special neighbor, Shirley; and his beloved dog and companion, Jack.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Ann Wright.
Rick served in the United States National Guard and retired from the Labor's Union L ocal 1058.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #330, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #4793, and the Disabled American Veterans Post #123 all of Waynesburg.
He was a pipeliner by trade and was able to travel throughout the United States. Being a pipeliner was a job that he loved and dedicated himself to. He was also an avid Steelers fan and he loved to hunt and fish.
Rick truly enjoyed life and will always be remembered for his ability to make others laugh.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 5-8 PM Thursday. A memorial service will be held at 8:00 PM in the funeral home with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating.
Cremation will follow the service.
