William N. Thomas, 86, of Hundred, WV died Sunday, February 12, 2017 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born December 6, 1930 in Lafayette, IN, a son of the late Nicholas W. Thomas and Elizabeth Meyer Thomas.
Bill was a retired United States Marine where he had served for more than 20 years and also he was a retired manager of the Hundred office of Alltel.He was the chairman of the Hundred-Littleton PSD and was very active in securing the water system in the Hundred area.Being a veteran, Bill was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred.
Surviving are one son, Nicholas Thomas of Connecticut; two step-sons, Scott McHenry and Ricky McHenry, both of Hundred; one daughter, Donna Menke of Jacksonville, North Carolina; three step-daughters, Karen Teets of Horse Shoe Run, WV, Abigail Arnold of Canby, Oregon, and Lisa McHenry of Elkton, Maryland; two sisters, Tommie Nolan of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Dorothy Miller of South Carolina; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Thomas and a sister, Barbara Klotz.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 6-8 PMWednesday.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at the West Virginia National Cemetery near Grafton with full military honors.
