Denzil “Peck” Gump, 88, of Burton, WV died Thursday, March 2, 2017 in Fairmont Regional Medical Center.

He was born February 17, 1929 at Coburn, a son of the late Leroy Inze Gump and Lucinda Lowe Gump

Mr. Gump was retired from Ormet.He has also driven school bus for a time and was well known as a horse trader.He was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Burton.

Surviving are his wife, Treva Ann “Butch” Taylor Gump to whom he had been married for 64 years; children, Sharon Wade, Sheridan “Bub” Gump and his wife Olivia, and Denieta Gump; one brother and his wife, Gail and Sarah Gump; grandchildren, Leanna & Jim Watson, Toshia Gump Ray, Nickolle Gump Kyer & Jay Kyer, Jalena & Jason Bumgardner, Jalane & Joe Stanley, Joshua Gump, and Samantha & Justin Shine; great-grandchildren, Trevonn Ray, Dyllan Gump, Jaden Watson, Colten Stanley, Caleb Stanley, Ainslee Bumgardner, and Landen Shine.

Also surviving are several step-grandchildren, several step-great-grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and special friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Sheridan and Lula Taylor; one son, Denzil “Denny” Gump, and a son in law, Jerry Wade, and several brothers and sisters.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Baptist Church Mission Fund.

Mr. Gump has requested cremation as his method of final disposition.There will be no services of any kind.

The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements.
