Joyce A. Wysong, 66, of the Charleston area died Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the home of her mother in Hundred, West Virginia.
She was born December 9, 1950 in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of Thelma R. Morgan Cox of Hundred and the late James Cox.
Mrs.Wysong attended Hundred Grade School and Hundred High School and graduated from Fairmont State College.
Joyce previously worked at the Marlinton Motor Inn for several years.She also worked for the telephone company selling phones to schools and businesses.She was currently working for the West Virginia Association of Rehabilitation Facilities.
Surviving in addition to her mother are one brother and a sister-in-law, Henry “Hank” Cox and his wife Evelyn of Crown Point, Indiana; a step-son, Jimmy Wysong; a step-daughter, Wendy Long; and a step-granddaughter, Lindsey Long.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wysong; her maternal grandparents, Lee and Hazel Morgan; her paternal grandparents, Henry and Lula Cox; and four aunts, Ruth Bishop, Louise Beaumont, Louise Tustin, and Maxine Pruitte.
She has many friends throughout the state and a special friend, Lee Miller.
She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church of Burton and attended the Baptist Church in Nitro.
Joyce was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Nitro Chapter #153, and had been their worthy matron for several years.
Mrs. Wysong was a member of the Grand Family of Eastern Star.The group of officers were call the Pepper Patch.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service hour on Monday with Pastor Jason Sleeth officiating.
Friends may call at the Cooke Funeral Home in Nitro from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM service on Wednesday.
Interment will follow in the Tyler Mountain Memory Garden at Cross Lanes.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that the donor make a donation to the charity of their choice.
