John O. Thomas, 88, of Burgettstown, PA died Saturday, October 22, 2011 at his residence.
He was born May 27, 1923, at Wana, WV, a son of the late Glenn Thomas and Delphia Florence Moore Thomas.
Mr. Thomas was a retired auto mechanic and a member of the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church.
Surviving him are three sons, Fred Thomas of Bruceton Mills, Larry Thomas of Wana, and John Wilson of Imperial, PA; three daughters, Delphia Varner of Morgantown, Helen Ruth Ammons of Spraggs, PA, and Donna Foley of Wadestown; one sister, Opal Sainato, New Freeport, PA; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
John was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Thomas; three sisters, Carol Curtis, Violet Rockwell, and Dorothy Hickman; and a son who died as an infant, John Thomas, Jr.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Eakin Cemetery at Jollytown, PA.
