Lila M. Simpson, 64, of Wadestown (Crossroads Community), died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at her residence after a long illness.
She was born October 21, 1945 in Fairmont, WV, a daughter of Mildred Neel Turner of Fairmont and the late John (June) Turner.
Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker and she attended the Jakes Run Assembly of God.
Surviving in addition to her mother, is her husband of 42 years, Vernon Simpson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Tim Cummins and Shelley and Jerry Wolfe; all of Jakes Run; two grandsons, Eric Cummins and Ryan Cummins, both of Jakes Run; one sister, Carol Pheasant of Fairmont; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald and Frances Turner and Michael (Dayton) and Lisa Turner all of Fairmont and Charles and Donna Turner of Hagans; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Carolyn Simpson of Newton Falls, OH; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Simpson of Lumberton, NC and Doris Simpson of Wana; and twenty-one nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Deloris Turner; and brothers-in-law Sidney Pheasant, Ira (Buck) Simpson, and Allen Simpson.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ashraf, the Mon General Oncology Department, and Hospice Care Corp. for the care and compassion shown to Lila and her family during her illness.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 3-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the Jakes Run Assembly of God at 11:00 AM Monday with the Pastor Rob Bennett and Pastor Edward Woods officiating. Interment will follow in the Core Cemetery at Bula.
