Ted R. Heflin, 78, of Core, WV died Friday, April 16, 2010 in the Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown.
He was born February 2, 1932 at Cassville, WV a son of the late Lawrence Heflin and Myrtle M. West Heflin.
Ted was a retired construction worker and was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean War.
Surviving is one sister, Dolly Tennant of Fairview; three step-daughters, Doris Eleanor Deavers of Granville, Charlene Eveland of Columbia, MD, and Carolyn Ammons of Daybrook; ten step-grandchildren; twenty-seven step- great-grandchildren; five-step great-great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife, Aretis V. Heflin, who died on June 12, 2008; one brother, Alfred Heflin; and three sisters, Daisy Heflin, Flossie Walls, and Alda Music.
Friends will be received at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with Rev. Bill NeSmith officiating. Interment will follow in the Zoar Cemetery near Morgantown.
