Floyd Eugene “Gene” Goodman, 63, of Blacksville , WV died Sunday, November 21, 2010 in the Louis A. Johnson VeteransHospital in Clarksburg .
Gene was born June 5, 1947 at Dutch Hill , PA , a son of the late Elton L. Goodman and Elizabeth E. Schermerhorn Goodman.
Mr. Goodman was retired from the United States Army and a Baptist by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Naomi Jane Mason Goodman; one son, Floyd Eugene Goodman, Jr of Blacksville; two daughters, Mary Goodman of Spraggs, PA and Samantha Varner of Blacksville; three brothers, Olen Goodman of Clarksburg, Alvin Goodman of Rimersburg, PA and Edward Goodman of New Bethlehem, PA; one sister, Erma Allshouse of Butler, PA; a son-in-law, William Varner of Blacksville; two grandsons, Derrick Tennant and Eric Tennant, both of Daybrook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Pastor Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the HaughtCemetery near Fairview .
