Louise J. Spitznogle, 84, formerly of Mt. Morris, PA died Monday, March 9, 2009 in Washington Hospital, Washington, PA.
She was born May 26, 1924 at Dellslow, WV a daughter of the late George M. Mayfield and Melissa Cress Mayfield.
Mrs. Spitznogle was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Morris American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She was methodist by faith.
Surviving are three sons, Arthur A. Spitznogle of Mt. Morris, Thomas C. Spitznogle of Spraggs, PA, and Roy A. Spitznogle of Mt. Morris; three daughters, Brenda Lee Yeager of Virginia Beach, VA, Erma Jane Wellmon, of Newport News, VA and Thelma Sharon Roach of Waynesburg; twenty-four grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. Spitznogle who died on August 25, 1974; one son, Charles E. Spitznogle; and one grandson, Edward Allen Spitznogle.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Friday. Interment will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery at Mt. Morris, PA.
