Dorothy M. Hickman, 80, of Pumpkin Run Road, Wana, WV died Tuesday, June 3, 2008 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born February 4, 1928 at Wana, WV a daughter of the late Glenn Thomas and Delphia Florence Moore Thomas.
Dorothy was a homemaker and a farmer. She loved the outdoors, loved to hunt deer, turkey, and elk. She loved her farm on Pumpkin Run and everything associated with farming. She was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one brother, Johnnie Thomas of Burgettstown, PA and one sister, Opal Sainato of New Freeport, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James W. "Bud" Hickman who died on April 26, 1993; one brother, Fred Thomas; and two sisters, Carol Curtis and Violet Rockwell.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 7-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday with the Rev. Rose Saunders officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery near Wana.
