Joseph Britvec, 81, of Statler Run Road, Fairview, WV died Wednesday, August 20, 2008 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born March 20, 1927 in Pittsburgh, PA, a son of the late Steve and Agnes Chernoff Britvec.
Joe served in the United States Navy during World War II and worked for the Davis & Lynch Glass Factory for many years.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Gail Britvec; one son and spouse, Steve and Aneda Britvec of Fairview; two daughters and spouses, Mary and Jim Raley of Morgantown and Barbara and Gary Brookover of Daybrook; one son-in-law, Jack Marko of Westover; one sister, Catherine Britvec of Morgantown; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Marko.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:00 PM Saturday with the Pastor Larry Kincell officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
