ALBERTA J. WALKER
Alberta J. Walker, 91, of Hundred, WV died Sunday, October 27, 2019 at her residence.
She was born January 12, 1928 at Hagans, WV, a daughter of the late Harold Swann and Mildred Michael Swann.
Mrs. Walker was a retired secretary for the Monongalia County Board of Education. She served as the secretary at the Blacksville, Wadestown, and Pentress Elementary Schools for many years.
She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Fairmont.
Surviving are one son and his wife, Alan Walker and his wife Darlene of Hundred; one sister, Marlene Rundle of Fairmont; two granddaughters and their husbands, Alyssa Henderson and her husband Bill and Diedra Huggins and her husband Nathan, all of Hundred; and four great-grandchildren, Cole Henderson, Casey Henderson, Roxie Huggins, and Jaxon Huggins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Carl “Bill” Walker; one sister, Joann Michael; and two brothers, Harold “Bud” Swann and Billy Swann.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Jason Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements.
So sorry to hear this news that my aunt Birdie passed. Always kind and generous. She opened up her home countless times for our summer visits. My wife Donna will always remember waking up to the sound of a large cow outside our window.
Our prayers are with Al and all his family. You will be in our mind tomorrow.
