Alma Lavone Simpson
Alma Lavone Simpson, 94 of Cameron, WV passed away on October 31, 2026 in WVU Medicine, Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Glen Dale.
Lavone was born to Clay and Lillian (Gorby) Frye on March 22, 1932.
She was a lifelong resident of Cameron.
She was married to Kenneth Sampson and together they raised one son Kermit.
She was predeceased by her husband and son; and her parents; four brothers, Howard (Brunt) Frye, Bernard (Gene) Frye, both of Cameron, Lawrence (Hop) Frye of Bancroft, Michigan, and William Frye who died as an infant; one sister, Imogene (Earl) Chambers of Cameron.
She is survived by one sister Bonnie Perry of Pittsburgh, PA; nephews Larry Chambers (Marni), Rick Frye (Barbara), David Frye, and Mark Frye (Lisa), all of Cameron; nieces, Vicki Drake, Wheeling, Pam Cunningham and Debbie Cain, Moundsville, and Anna Denton of Michigan.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 11:00 am until the 12:00 noon service hour on Wednesday, November 4, 2026. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Doug Richardson. Interment will follow in the Big Run Cemetery near Cameron.
