Anna Jeanette Savino, 83, of Fairmont, WV died Friday, July 6, 2007 in Fairmont General Hospital surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.
She was born September 21, 1923 at Wadestown, WV, a daughter of the late Jeff and Bessie Roupe.
Surviving are her son Ted Savino of Shinnston and his wife Adela (Cortez), a brother, Albert Roupe of Follansbee, WV; three grandchildren: Helena Tobrey of Hutchinson, Jennifer Pride of Wadestown, and Teddy Savino of Fairmont; two step-grandchildren, Heather Cameron of Stephens City, VA and Lisa Phares of Morgantown, and nine great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Angelo Savino and three sisters, Goldie Price, Mildred Simpson, and Mary Lemley, and one brother, Howard Roupe.
Anna was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Crossroads. She was a waitress for many years in various restaurants including the Wonder Bar in Clarksburg and the Como in Niagara Falls, NY. Anna enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her friends at the Marion Unity Apartments and she enjoyed the company of her cat Calli.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Fairmont General Hospital for their excellant care and kindness during Anna's time there.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 5-9 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Pastor Tim Brower officiating. Interment will follow in the Eakin-Wana Memorial Cemetery at Wana.
