Ardell W. Sayer, 78, of Littleton, WV died Thursday, August 29, 2002 in the Louis A. Johnson Veterans Administration Hospital in Clarksburg.
He was born June 1, 1924 at Littleton, WV a son of the late Encil W. and Iva Norris Sayer.
Mr. Sayer retired in 1982 from the West Virginia Department of Highways.Prior to working for the Department of Highways he worked on the railroad for nearly 20 years.He was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II and was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post # 120 of Hundred.He was a Methodist by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Allison Sayre; two sons and daughter-in-law, Steve and Janet Sayer of Wilmington, NC and Dale Sayer of Littleton, WV; one daughter and spouse, Linda and Joe Breyer of Belliare, Ohio; one brother, Jack L. Sayer of Niles, OH; five grandchildren, Teresa Metz, Duane Metz, II, Marlana Summers, Ryan and Wesley Sayer; two great-grandchildren, Brittany and Robert Wilson.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Friday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Saturday with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating.Interment will follow in the Anderson-Bethel Cemetery at Littleton, WV.
