August D. Anderson, 64, of Wadestown, WV died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his residence.
He was born December 23, 1946 at Wana, WV, a son of the late William Pearl Anderson and Helen Lucille Rebold Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a retired coal miner. He last worked at the Consolidation Coal Company Blacksville #2 Mine. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam and was a protestant by faith.
Surviving are his wife, Geneva Pearl Wise Anderson; two sons, Ronald Anderson of Wadestown and Christopher Anderson of Jakes Run; one daughter, Carmen Gibson of Wana; two brothers, William Anderson of Claysville, PA and Danny Anderson of Plum Run; five sisters, Nancy Wilson of Jakes Run, Diane Tennant of Fairmont, Janet Brummage of Pentress, Charlotte Saunders of Fairmont, and Debbie Anderson of Fairmont; and six grandchildren, Travis, Nathan, Dusty, and Landon Anderson; Bradyden and Cameron Gibson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Anderson.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with Rev. Raymond Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
