Bernace A. "Pete" Roberts, 78, of Burton, WV (Earnshaw Community) died Saturday, June 2, 2007 in the Arbors at Fairmont Nursing Facility following a brief illness.
He was born January 2, 1929 at Earnshaw, a son of the late Arvel Roberts and Mary Martin Roberts.
Pete was retired from the United States Army. After retiring from the Army he worked at various odd jobs in the Hundred area. He was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred and he was a Hundred High School graduate. He was methodist by faith and was a member of the Earnshaw United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one sister, Shirley Shuman of Burton; one nephew, Justin Shuman of Columbus, Ohio; two nieces, Shawnee Shuman of Witchita, KS and Cheyenne Hanson of Front Royal, VA; six great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bradley Shuman.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 7-9 PM Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Tuesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Cunningham Memorial Gardens at Burton, WV.
