Bessie Core, 91, formerly of Buckeye Road, Core, died Monday, January 4, 2016 in the Point Manor Personal Care Home in Point Marion, PA.
She was born November 24, 1924 at Metz, WV, a daughter of the late William Smith and May Lemley Smith.
Mrs. Core was a homemaker and a member of the Buckeye United Methodist Church.
Surviving are one son, David Core, of Core; one step-daughter, Nola Wilson of Ruidoso, New Mexico; and one granddaughter, Rachel E. Core of South Windsor, Connecticut.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Core, Jr.; one brother, Oscar Smith; and four sisters, Nellie Ornduff, Gilbretta Delaney, Emma Zimonick, and Jean Roupe.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-8 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
