Bessie Gayle Cosgray, 100, of Burton, died Monday, January 6, 2014 in the New Martinsville Health Care Center.
She was born August 24, 1913, on Roberts Run near Hundred, a daughter of the late John Roberts and Catherine Barr Roberts.
Mrs. Cosgray was a homemaker and a methodist by faith.
Surviving are two sons, Ronald Cosgray of Earnshaw and Dave Cosgray of Hundred; two daughters, Mary Sole of Hundred and Marlene Shuman of Burton; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harry Ray Cosgray who died in January of 1947; four brothers, Stacy Roberts, Walter Roberts, Odis Roberts, and Arvel Roberts; one half-brother, William Goff; five sisters, Lizzie Kirkpatrick, Doshia Cox, Amy Cosgray, Mable Rush, and Hazel Roberts; and one son, John Robert Cosgray.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-8 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 PM Friday with the Rev. Elizabeth Carson officiating. Interment will follow in the Thomas Chapel Cemetery near Hundred.
