Betty Louise King, 82, of Crossroads, died Thursday, February 26, 2015 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born November 19, 1932 at Fairmont, WV, a daughter of the late Lee Patton and Minnie Elizabeth King Patton.
Mrs. King was a homemaker. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church of Crossroads. Betty was a 1950 graduate of Farmington High School.
Surviving are five sons and their spouses, Ronald & Jean King of Blacksville, David and Jeanie King of Wana, Donald King, Kenneth King Jr., and Marion King all of Crossroads; one brother, Kenneth Patton and his wife Judy of Garden City, Michigan; one brother-in-law, Richard King of Hitching, KY; one sister-in-law, Paula Patton of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Josh King, Michael King, Dennis King, and Liberty and her husband Chris Spears; four great-grandchildren, Allison, Braylee, Paxton, and Adelyn; three step-great-grandchildren, Daniel, Christian, and Destiny; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth King; two sisters, Madelyn Patton and Doris Hill; and six brothers, Roy Patton, Junior Patton, Harold Patton, Charles Edwin Patton, Robert Patton, and Richard Patton.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nursing staff and doctors on 6 north at Mon General Hospital and the staff of Amedisys Hospice for the care and compassion show to Betty and her family during her final illness.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with the Pastor Steve Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
