Bobbie G. Johnson, 67, of Fairmont, WV died Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg.
He was born September 25, 1946 at Moundsville, WV, a son of the late Melvin Floyd Johnson and Violet Pyles Johnson.
Bob worked as a sheet metal worker for many years. After his health failed he worked as a truck dispatcher. One of the jobs that Bob enjoyed the most was driving the senior citizen van for the Hundred Senior Citizens.
Mr. Johnson was a United States Navy veteran having served on the USS Independence.
Bob was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred, the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Littleton, and the DAV of Waynesburg, PA.
Surviving is his wife, Gloria Jean Martin Johnson; one son & daughter-in-law, Steven & Lysa Johnson of Morgantown; one daughter & son-in-law, Tonya & Scott Martin of Fairmont; one brother, Gary Johnson of New Martinsville; two sisters, Goldie Yeater of New Martinsville and Juda Rush of Wileyville; three granddaughters, Samantha Johnson, Misti Johnson, and Emma Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Anna Higgins, and one brother, Sylva "Sheb" Johnson.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Saturday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
