Bobbie June Brooks Tennant, 80, of Daybrook, WV, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2015. She was born in Blairsville, Georgia, on November 22, 1934, the daughter of the late Ernie and Janie Allen Brooks of Pentress. In addition to her parents, June was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Gene Tennant, and a beloved son, Ronnie Burl Moore.

June was well known in the community. She was most commonly seen at the baseball field and at wrestling matches as she followed her son’s and grand-childred’s favorite sports. In later years, June would be found at Lotta Pizza helping her sister and visiting with her friends. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her home was always full of children and laughter. For many years, June held the entire family’s Thanksgiving celebration at her home. Those memories will be cherished by all who passed through the doors for meals, fellowship, and a piece of her homemade fruit cake.

June will be missed and fondly remembered by her surviving son, Christopher Mark Tennant (Carrie) of Daybrook; three sisters, Frances King (Mack) of Wadestown; Phyllis Jane Brooks and Gerry Rowan, both of Pentress; one brother, Roger Allen Brooks (Joanne) of Pentress; eight grandchildren, Eric Michael Moore of Fairview; Christopher Mark Tennant, Jr. (Amanda Wilson) of Core; Cody Matthew Tennant (Feleena Towns),Chandler Mitchell Tennant, Cameron Mackenzie Tennant, and Shyann Marie Tennant, all of Daybrook; Carla Rae McClure (Ryan) of Brave, PA; and Emily Jane Cumberledge of Daybrook; and three great-grandsons, Landon Michael Moore, and Brantley Rhett Franklin Tennant, and A.J. Towns; as well as her dear nieces and nephews.

In addition to the many friends the visited sharing warmth and compassion, the family would like to extend special thanks to Rev. Fred Eddy II, Marie Tennant, Jeannie Simpson, and Jenny Flynn for their final acts of kindness during June’s end of life journey.

A celebration of June’s life will be held at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11 AM, with Rev. Fred Eddy II officiating with burial following at Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 26 from 5-9 pm at Owen-Neely Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers; the

family is requesting contributions to Owen-Neely Funeral Home to help with expenses.
