BONITA I. TOOTHMAN
Bonita Irene Toothman, 87, Jakes Run, formerly of Mannington, died Saturday, February 5, 2022 in the Monongalia General Hospital.
She was born December 29, 1934 at Jakes Run, a daughter of the late Everett Graves and Flora Tennant Graves.
Mrs. Toothman was a graduate of Fairmont State College and she worked as a nurse at Fairmont General Hospital for over 20 years. She was the oldest of 10 children in her family. She enjoyed many hobbies such as painting, ceramics, knitting, and sewing. She loved gardening and working with her flowers. Baking for friends and family was one of her favorite past times.
She was a member of the Mannington Church of the Nazarene.
Surviving are one son and his wife, Rod McVicker and his wife Sharon; grandchildren and their spouses, Sheena and George Carpenter, Matt and Melinda Smith, and Stacy Smith; great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Harley, Dayanara, Remington, Andrew, Destiny, & Brandon; five siblings, brother, Scott (Marie) Graves of Fairmont, sister, Ada Eddy of Rivesville, sister Rita Pope of Milford, NJ, sister Patty Cahill of Hampton, NJ, and Jean Quick (Paul) of Phillipsburg, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Willard “Jack” Nelson McVicker and Basil Toothman; one daughter, Pamela Kay McVicker; two grandsons, Levi Codi McVicker and Jeffery Scott Smith; two brothers, Burl Graves and Walter Graves; and one sister, Joann Ronk.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-8 PM on Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
