BONNIE HOSTUTLER
Bonnie Ruth Hostutler of Hundred, WV passed away peacefully at home on Monday, May 11, 2020. She was born December 10, 1931 in Wadestown, WV to the late Dewey and Beatrice Harker Russell.
Bonnie graduated from Clay-Battelle High School in the class of 1950. She worked at Westinghouse in Fairmont, WV until she moved to Petersburg, VA with her soldier husband, William Mancel Hostutler, whom she married August 10, 1951. She was employed at the Arnold Pen Factory while living in Petersburg. She also worked at Bell’s Market in Hundred for a short time while her children were in college.
Bonnie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister. She was a member of the Hundred United Methodist Church and served as secretary of the United Methodist Women for over thirty years. She was a member of Augusta Chapter 6 Order of the Eastern Star. She loved quilting and made many beautiful quilts for her family. She enjoyed gardening, canning, jigsaw and word search puzzles, and kept an immaculate house inside and out. She enjoyed cooking and caring for her family, all of whom loved her so very much and will miss her dearly. Her greatest joy was having her family with her for the holidays and celebrations.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Mancel, who passed away November 18, 1998; her sister, Mabel Wilson; her father and mother-in-law, Goff and Maggie Hostutler, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Hostutler Yost and husband Albert of Morgantown, WV, and two sons, William (Bill) Hostutler and wife Brenda of Bridgeport, WV, and Jerry Hostutler and wife Debra of Hundred, WV. Also surviving are five granddaughters, Melissa Hostutler of King George, VA, Jennifer (Marc) Amandus of Morgantown, WV, Amy Nickerson (Aaron) of Versailles, KY, Heather Franks (Jonathan) of Findlay, OH and Megan Hostutler of Bridgeport, WV; five great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Annalise Amandus, Cole and Bryce Nickerson, and Quinn Franks, sister-in-law, Sophia Troy of Morgantown, WV and several nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic all services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
Bonnie will be laid to rest in the Cunningham Memorial Gardens at Burton, WV beside her late husband, Mancel.
The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Hundred United Methodist Church, c/o Elizabeth Williams, Treasurer, 1288 Robinson Ridge Road, Littleton, WV 26581
