Bradley A. DeWitt, 19, of Jakes Run, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born October 5, 1991 in Morgantown, a son of Robert D. DeWitt and Diana J. Tennant DeWitt.
He was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School, class of 2010. He currently was working for the R. G. Johnson Company. He loved his job and all of the guys that he worked with.
Brad loved doing everything such as hunting and riding dirt bikes on trails in any kind of weather. There was nothing that he didn't like to do. He would do anything for anyone because he was just that kind of a person. He had a "Heart of Gold". One of his loves were his puppy dogs, Budman, Genie, Cinnamon, and Harvick.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Robin L. Price and her husband Samuel of Jakes Run; his paternal grandmother, Katie DeWitt of Jakes Run; aunts and uncles, Louie (Lou) Tennant and Danny Less, Steve Tennant, Edward and Abby Tennant; and several cousins.
He was looking forward to becoming an uncle, as his sister, Robin is expecting a baby. Her name will be Reese Skylar Price.
Also, surviving him are,Jim and Kathy Foley, and Mark and Sherry Shriver who were like his second parents.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John P and Waneda P. Tennant; his paternal grandfather, Ervil D. DeWitt; and several great aunts and uncles.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday and 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Evangelist Aaron Snider officiating. Interment will follow in the Brewer Cemetery.
