Burtis Cork, 90, of Hundred, WV died Thursday, August 17, 2006 enroute to the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born May 2, 1916 at Salem, WV a son of the late Florence Cork Edwards.
Mr. Cork was retired from the Columbia Gas Company where he worked for over 43 years as a well tender and meter reader.
He was a member of the Rush Run United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons & spouses, Dale & Debbie Cork of Burton and Mike and Virginia Cork of Fort Mill, South Carolina; three daughters & spouses, Linda & Jay Snider of Clark Lake, MI, Jean Crihfield of Hundred, and Pam & Joe Fuller of Charlotte, NC; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Kathleen Cork, who died on March 3, 1990; two sons, James Ronald Cork and Larry David Cork; and two daughters, Sybil Diane Cork and Karen McDonnell.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 PM Sunday with the Rev. Clara Peggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Cunningham Memorial Gardens in Burton.
