Carl E "Ed" Hixenbaugh, 94, of Hundred, WV died March 14, 2007 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.

Ed was born February 27, 1913 at Hundred, WV a son of the late Isaac Ray Hixenbaugh and Edna Harlan Hixenbaugh.

He started to work when he was 15 with his father in the oil fields and started to work with the New York Natural Gas Company on March 17, 1948 and retired in 1975 at the age of 62 from Consolidated Natural Gas Company. Ed was the oldest living relative of Henry Church who was the founder of the Town of Hundred. He was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred and a member of the Sancho Church of Christ.

Surviving are three sons, James Hixenbaugh of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Joseph Hixenbaugh of Greensburg, PA, and Charles P "Pat" Hixenbaugh of Mannington; three brothers, Harry Hixenbaugh of Youngstown, Ohio, Ronnie Hixenbaugh of Warrenton, Georgia and Bill Hixenbaugh of Warrenton, Georgia; three sisters, Kay Jobes of Thompson, GA, Geraldine "Jerry" Kimble of Hundred, and Betty Anderson of Aliquippa, PA; thirteen grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren, and three-great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preced in death by his wife, Emma Bayles Hixenbaugh in 1980; three sisters, Lib Himelrick, Carolyn Harrison, and Rosa Lee Hixenbaugh; and one great-grandchild, Cheyanne Hixenbaugh.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Saturday with the Evangelist Dick Bartrug officiating. Interment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park in Delmont, PA.
