CAROL COPELAND

          Karen Carol Copeland, 74, of Burton, WV died Tuesday, December 30, 2025 at J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

          She was born April 1, 1951, at Wadestown, a daughter of the late James P. Kennedy and Alberta Moore Kennedy.

          Carol worked as a substitute school teacher for many years.  She was an EMT for the United Emergency Unit in Hundred for many years also.  She was a member of the Truth Assembly Chapel at Wadestown.

          Mammaw was the most precious, kindhearted, loving, driven, smartest, caring, and generous woman.  Through her generosity she was an organ donor.  There is a 44 year old person that now has Carol’s liver and by her donation this person has a chance at a long and healthy life.

          Surviving is her husband of 54 years, Robert Dale Copeland; two sons, Robert Todd Copeland of Hundred, and Triston Copeland and his wife Amanda of Burton; four sisters, Kathy and Frank Martinelli of Carlisle, PA, Sharon Cheslock of Laurel Point, Kim and Jerry Tennant of Morgantown, and Kandy and Randy Earl of Core; seven grandchildren, Davin Copeland, Leila Rain Copeland, Lexie Chase, Zack Copeland, Noah Copeland, Kigh Dobbins, and Jonah Dobbins; four great-grandchildren, Jax Wayne Copeland, Jace David Copeland, Raeleigh Chase, and Parker Chase; and numerous nieces and nephews.

          In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew and niece, Tharron and Jill Earl; and a brother-in-law, Tiny Cheslock.

          Friends may call at the Truth Assembly Chapel, 10651 Mason-Dixon Highway, Burton, WV  26562, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 2, 2026.  Funeral services will be held in the church at 11:00 AM Saturday with Pastor Jason Morgan officiating.  Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.

          In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the following:  Wadestown Cemetery, c/o Pam Foley, Treasurer, 10462 Mason-Dixon Highway, Burton, WV   26562.  These funds will be used for the upkeep of the cemetery.

          The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV is in charge of arrangements.
