Carol L. Steele, 73, of Hundred, WV died Sunday, June 2, 2002 at her residence.She was born September 15, 1928 at Bula, WV a daughter of the late Homer Russell and Augusta Toothman Steele.
Miss Steele was retired from the United States Postal Service and worked for many years at the Hundred, WV Post Office.In her early life she did restaurant work and worked at Onearce's Drug Store in Hundred.She was a graduate of Clay-Battelle High School having graduated in 1946.She was a member of the Bula Baptist Church.
Surviving are one sister-in-law, Lucy M. Steele of Hundred; four nieces, Tempa Steele of Hundred, Deanna Raper of Boyce, VA, Lizabeth Steele of Elkins, WV and Terri Jo Casdorph of Cross Lanes, WV; one nephew, Rusty Steele of Helena, AL; several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lester D. Steele and Homer R. Steele, Jr.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 5 - 9 PM Tuesday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Rev. Samuel K. Hibbs, Jr. officiating.Interment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Gardens in Burton.
