Charles A. Grimes, 90, of New Freeport, PA died Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at his residence.
Chuck was born May 7, 1926 at Waynesburg, PA, a son of the late Orville O. Grimes and Carrie Ornduff Grimes.
He was retired from Fox Ford in Waynesburg where he had worked for more than 40 years as a Registered Service Technician.
Mr. Grimes was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Chuck was a member and trustee of the Grandview United Methodist Church at Garrison, PA.He looked after the church for more than 50 years seeing that the grounds and building were cared for.
Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Oneita R. Stockdale Grimes; a son-in-law, Robert G. Moore of Wadestown; a step-granddaughter, Cynthia Dawn Moore of Fredericksburg, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonita G. Moore, and five brothers, Forest Grimes, William Grimes, Halfred Grimes, Leroy Grimes, and George Grimes.
All services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred, WV is in charge of arrangements.
