CHARLES O. PHILLIPS
Charles O. Phillips, 91 of, Wileyville, WV died Friday, August 1, 2025 in the New Martinsville Health Care Center in New Martinsville.
He was born December 28, 1933 in Pine Grove, WV, a son of the late Jesse Otto Phillips and Fannie Leota Norris Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was retired from PPG Industries where he worked as a chemical operator. He loved to play horseshoes and cards. He was a state horseshoe pitching champion. He was a United States Army veteran who served in Germany from 1953 to 1956. Charles was a graduate of Magnolia High School.
Surviving are two sons and their spouses, Doug & Julie Phillips of Wileyville and Scott and Susan Phillips of New Martinsville; one daughter and her spouse, Marla & John Crews of Fort Smith, Arkansas; one half-brother, Joseph Phillips of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren, Saul Phillips, Tyler Phillips, Maggie Phillips, Alyssa Phillips, Natalie Christen, Zack Phillips, and Megan Hines; and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sherlene Phillips who died on May 17, 2019; and the following siblings, Florine Huggins, Loretta Phillips, Lorene Perkins, Madeline Miller, Robert Phillips, William “Dick” Phillips, Edmond Phillips, Imogene McCoy, Maxine Williams, Wilbert Phillips, and Philemon Phillips.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 11:00 AM to the service hour of 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM with Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Long Valley Cemetery at Wileyville.
