Christopher Thomas "Tommy" Cork, 20, of Wadestown, WV, died Friday, June 12, 2009 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Tommy was born May 2, 1989, in Morgantown, a son of William Dale Cork and Debra Ann Bartrug Cork.

He was employed with the Atlas Railroad Construction Company as a laborer. He enjoyed seeing so much of the United States while working at different locations. While in high school he enjoyed being in the band and playing several different instruments. He was selected to attend the National Guard's Youth Leadership Camp at Camp Dawson, near Kingwood.

Tommy was a former member of the Hundred Volunteer Fire Department and was an active member of the Wadestown Volunteer Fire Department.

He loved his family, his friends and his Mustang GT. He loved going to car shows and just recently had attended the Ford Nationals in Carlisle, PA, where his car placed.

Surviving in addition to his parents are two sisters, Sarah Bess Gibbons and her fiance' Allen "A.J." Wade of Westover and Lisa Marie Barnes of D'Iberville, MS; a niece and nephew, Alexandria and Caleb; and one great neice; his maternal grandmother, Lucille Bartrug of Burton; aunts and uncles, Russell "Dick" and Lana Bartrug of Martinsburg; Sara "Sally" and J. D. Ammons of Wadestown; Sam and Marty Bartrug of McConnellsville, OH; Ralph and Sue Bartrug of Burton; Rhonda and Ron Askew of Burton; Katherine "Kaye" Bartrug of Morgantown; Linda and Jay Snider of Clark Lake, Michigan, Gloria Jean Crihfield of Hundred; Pam and Joe Fuller of Charlotte, NC, and Mike and Virginia Cork of Fort Mills, SC; several cousins, some of whom were very close, that would include Sherry and her husband Gerald Metz, Mandy Daymude, and Shannon Bartrug; and his very special friends Brennan Chisler and Adam Dudas.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dick Bartrug; his paternal grandparents, Burtis and Kathleen Cork; two uncles, Ron Cork and Dave Cork, and two aunts, Karen McDonnell and Sybil Diane Cork.

Tommy was an organ donor and through his death seven other people have received the gift of life.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in Cunningham Memorial Gardens at Burton.
