Delbert Mason, 83, of Daybrook, WV died Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in the Monongalia General Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born October 26, 1923 at Daybrook, WV a son of the late Clarence B. Mason and Iva Shriver Mason.
Mr. Mason was retired from Consolidation Coal Company, Blacksville #2 Mine and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America District 31 of Fairmont.
Delbert attended the Daybrook Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Lue Spragg Mason; one son & daughter-in-law, Fred & Mary Mason of Daybrook; one daughter & son-in-law, Brenda and Larry Kuhn of Fairview; one brother, Clarence Don Mason of Mentor, Ohio; one sister, Doris Norman of Florida; five grandchildren & spouses, Larry & Amy Kuhn of Daybrook, Shawn & Lorri Kuhn of Fairview, Tina & Eric Corwin of Rivesville, Garry & Leslie Kuhn of Daybrook, and Margie Mason of Vietnam; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Freda Brock and one brother, Alton Mason.
The family would like to give a special "Thank You" to the staff of Morgantown Hospice for the care and compassion shown to the Mason Family.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Saturday with the Evangelist Pete McNunis and Freddie Eddy, II officiating. Interment will follow in the Daybrook Cemetery.
