Dennis L. Thomas, 66, of Wadestown, WV died Saturday, August 9, 2008 in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown from injuries sustained in an accident earlier in the day.

He was born May 6, 1942 at Jollytown, PA, a son of the late Ralph J. Thomas and Burnette Liming Thomas.

Mr. Thomas retired with 35 years of service with the Monongalia County School System. He served as principal of Clay-Battelle high school on two different occasions, served as the county coordinator at the Vo-Tech Center in Morgantown, as a shop teacher at Clay-Battelle High School, and as vice-principal at University High School.

Dennis was a Clay-Battelle FFA Honorary Member. He was an avid farmer who will be buried on the farm that has been in his family for six generations.

He was a active member of the Liming Ridge Church of Christ.

Dennis was a devoted husband and a proud and supportive father and grandfather. All who knew him, knew him to be quiet, even-tempered, humorous and a helper to all who asked, even if it meant putting aside his own work.

As a part of his funeral service, the family would like anyone in attendance to share any story about Dennis that they would like, whether it be serious or humorous.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Hardway Thomas; one son and his wife, Curt and Beth Thomas of Wadestown; one daughter and her husband, Denise and Eddie Casino of Wana; one brother, Garold Thomas of Lake Ridge, VA; two sisters, Linda Tennant of Wadestown and Bernice Crihfield of Hundred; and five grandchildren, Jackie Thomas, Josie Thomas, Ashley Casino, Katlyn Casino, and Seth Casino.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Wayne Thomas.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens, Evangelist Steve Snider, and Evangelist Dick Bartrug officiating. Interment will follow in the Thomas Family Cemetery.
