Don C. McCabe, 79, of Blacksville, WV died Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown.
He was born October 28, 1930 in Preston County, a son of the late Carl Edward McCabe and Maude Mae Teets McCabe.
Mr. McCabe was a retired coal miner. He worked for Consolidation Coal Company at the Pursglove #15 mine for 35 years. Don loved to squirrel hunt and he was an avid West Virginia Mountaineer fan.
He was a member of the Jakes Run Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie Frazier McCabe; one son and daughter-in-law, Edward C. McCabe and his wife Twyla of Macdale; one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Park and her husband Jay of Macdale; one sister, Thelma Robinson of Morgantown; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jeffrey Park and his wife Chrissy, Jill Ammons and her husband Doug, Clint McCabe and his wife Melissa, and Chris McCabe and his wife Keira; and five great-grandchildren, Brady Ammons, Jalynn Park, Breanna Ammons, Maddox McCabe, and Manning McCabe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Kenny "Horse" McCabe.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday with the Pastor Rob Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
