Edith J. Howell, 80, of New Martinsville, WV died Friday, February 27, 2004 in the New Martinsville Health Care Center in New Martinsville.
She was born January 1, 1924 at Wileyville a daughter of the late Samuel Lancaster and Lela Postlethwait Lancaster.
Mrs. Howell was a homemaker.She was a member of the First Church of God of New Martinsville and also a member of the WCG of the First Church of God.
Surviving are three sons, Gary D. Howell and Ronald W. Howell, both of Hundred, and Larry E. Howell of Walland, TN; two daughters, Joyce L. Smith of New Martinsville and Donna K. Hess of Powhatan Point, Ohio; one brother, Edward E. Lancaster of New Martinsville; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse W. Howell; an infant daughter, Carolyn Howell; one sister, Pearl Freeman, and one brother Philmore Lancaster.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 6-9 PM Monday.Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 Tuesday.Interment will follow in the Paden Memorial Gardens in Paden City, WV.
