Edna M. Bean, 97, of Blacksville (Macdale Community), died Sunday, April 23, 2006 at her residence.
She was born October 11, 1908 at Jollytown, PA, a daughter of the late Sherman Thomas and Kizzie Watson Thomas.
Mrs. Bean was a former employee of the United States Postal Service and worked at the Wana, WV Post Office. She was a member of the Wana United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Surviving are one son & daughter-in-law, Norman and Barbara Bean of Providence Forge, VA; one daughter, Lorraine Shriver of Blacksville; one brother, Carl Thomas of Charleston, WV; three grandchildren, Debra Shriver Bane, Christine Bean Culverson, and Norman Bean, Jr; four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Bean, who died on December 23, 2001; one brother, Ralph J. Thomas; four sisters, Fern T. White, Lois Dallison, Bessie Cowell, and a sister who died in infancy.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville, WV from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Wednesday with the Rev. David Lancaster officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
