Edward H. Sollars, 95, of Mt. Morris, PA died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his residence.
He was born June 2, 1918 at Morgantown, WV a son of the late Blanche Sollars.
Mr. Sollars was a retired coal miner. He worked for 40 years at Consolidation Coal Company Humphrey #7 Mine. He was a member of Local 1058, United Mine Workers of America.
Surviving is his wife of 73 years, Mary Sayers Sollars; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas and Martha Sollars of Blackville and George Sollars of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; four grandchildren and their spouses, Cathy and Bill Patterson of Burton, William and Tanya Sollars of Core, Christopher Sollars of Myrtle Creek, OR and Rhonda Sollars of Myrtle Creek, OR; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-granchildren.
Mr. Sollars was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a daughter-in-law, Etta Mae Sollars.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Friday with Rev. Sherry Rawlings officiating. Interment will follow in the Olive Cemetery at Pentress.
