ETHEL MAE PHILLIPS

            Ethel Mae Phillips, 68, of New Freeport, PA died Thursday, November 22, 2018 in the Washington Hospital in Washington, PA.

            She was born August 13, 1950 in Washington, PA, a daughter of the late James Bird and Juanita Virginia Gibson Bird.

            Mrs. Phillips was a retired cook having worked for the West Greene School District for many years.  She worked at both West Greene High School and New Freeport Elementary School.

            Juanita and her husband Terry served as foster parents to many children over the years.  She was a member of the Jollytown United Methodist Church.

            Surviving are her husband, Terry A. Phillips; two sons, Michael Phillips and Brian Phillips; two brothers, William Bird of Madison, Ohio and Donald Bird of Washington, PA; two sisters, Betty Tharp of Unionville, VA and Barbara Cappellini of Fredericksburg, VA;  and three grandchildren, Makalyla Phillips, Lexie Phillips, and Michael Phillips, Jr.

            In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters, Juanita Phillips and Tanya Phillips.

            A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on December 2, 2018 at the New Freeport Volunteer Fire Department in New Freeport, PA.

            In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution may be made to Tennant Funeral Home, PO Box 1200, Hundred, WV   26575.

            The Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred is in charge of arrangements.
