Floyd “Hoy” Pyles, 86, of Silver Hill Community, New Martinsville, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at his residence.
He was born July 24, 1929 at Silver Hill, a son of the late Elmer Pyles and Minnie McFadden Pyles
Mrs. Pyles worked most of his life as a dairy farmer. He served in the United States Navy aboard the US Roosevelt.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Mary Cain Pyles; two sons, Clifford Pyles of Silver Hill and Calvin Pyles of New Martinsville; two daughters and their spouses, Melba Lonero and her husband Greg of Divide, Colorado, and Rhonda Blake and her husband Robert of New Martinsville; nine grandchildren, Christie Starcher, William Henry Burge, Sarah Burge, Jessica Burge, Jamie Lee, Matt Burge, Brent Blake, Rachael Graham, and Clayton Pyles-Dugas; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Burge; two brothers, Roscoe Dale Pyles and Robert Pyles; and four sisters, Violet Johnson, Pansy Huggins, Burnis Pyles, and a sister who died as an infant.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2 to 7:00 PM Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Monday with the Evangelist Steve Stevens officiating. Interment will follow in the Jolliffe Cemetery at Silver Hill.
