Frank P. Hockenberry, of Wadestown, WV died Thursday, March 4, 2010 at his residence.
He was born July 31, 1926 at Dallas, WV, a son of the late Rev. J. F. Hockenberry and Eugenia R. Parker Hockenberry.
Mr. Hockenberry was retired from Consolidation Coal Company Blacksville #2 mine. He served in the Armed Forces in the Phillipines during World War II and served in the Air Force in England during the Korean War. He was a member of the Earl Kiger American Legion Post #120 of Hundred.
Surviving are his spouse, Dolores "Jeanie" Morris Hockenberry; sons and their spouses, David (Debbie) Hockenberry of Monongah, Michael Hockenberry of Hundred, John (Kathy) Hockenberry of Wadestown, and Tim (Michele) Hockenberry of Core; daughters and their spouses, Brenda (George) Michael of Blacksville, Kathy (Wesley) Sheehan of Farmington, and Donna (Marion "Toge") Tennant of Wadestown; grandchildren and their spouses, Brian (Christine) Michael, Tara (Brian) Kurcaba, Devin ( Nicole) Tennant, Tayla (Josh) Thomforde, Cody (Jenna) Hockenberry, Jordan Hockenberry, Jarret Hockenberry, and Justin (Amber) Morgan; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin Sheehan, Audrey Kurcaba, Spencer Morgan, and Astaire Thomforde; two brothers and their spouses, Lloyd Hockenberry of East Liverpool, OH and Lyle (Dorothy) Hockenberry of Gladesville, WV; two sisters, Lois Hockenberry and Dorcas Hockenberry both of Grafton; a special niece, Ann Bragg of Blacksville; and a brother and sister-in-law, Mary Lou and Raymond Stiles of Wana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene, Jim, and Robert; and sisters, Eva, Mary, Lucille, Virginia, Martha, Ruby and Joyce, and a grandson, Trent Tennant.
There will be no funeral home services or visitation. Mr. Hockenberry donated his body to the West Virginia University Human Gift Registry.
