Freda Eileen "Gammie" Tennant, 80, of Jakes Run died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 in the Betty Weber Personal Care Home with her family and friends by her side.

She was born July 26, 1926 at Jakes Run, a daughter of the late Clarence Eddy and Ernestine McCoy Eddy.

Eileen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was a housewife who loved to piece and quilt quilts. She was a member of the Jakes Run Assembly of God.

Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Dale Tennant, whom she married on March 2, 1944; one daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Frank Rose of Jakes Run; two brother and spouses, Richard and Judy Eddy of Daybrook and John and Elizabeth Eddy of Bridgeport; two sisters and spouses, Mary Ann and Donald Tennant of Core and Linda and Paul Donaldson of Petersburg; she was a "Special Gammie" to Debra and Mark Copeland of Blacksville and Lisa and Bryan Raber of Mooresville; three great-grandchildren, Stephanie Copeland, Derek Copeland and Bryson Raber; a very special friend, Norma Panrell; and she was "Auntie" to a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Velma "Jake" Tennant.

The family would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the staff of Morgantown Hospice and Betty Weber.

Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:30 PM Sunday with the Pastor Rose Saunders and Pastor Dave Tennant officiating. Interment will follow in the St Luke Cemetery at Mooresville.
