Garnet A. Gorby, 91, of Littleton, WV died Monday, April 4, 2005 in the Madison Rehab and Nursing Center in Morgantown.
She was born April 18, 1913 at Kodol, WV a daughter of the late Sylvester H. Williams and Minnie Lemasters Williams.
Mrs. Gorby was a homemaker. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of the Madison of Morgantown. She was a member of the Mt. Herman United Methodist Church. One of her favorite hobbies was making quilts.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Elvy Gorby, whom she married on May 28, 1933; one son, Robert Gorby of New Martinsville; three daughters, Joan Petitte of Morgantown, Patsy Moore of Leesburg, FL, and Kathryn S. Milliken of Knob Fork; two brothers, Carl Williams of Morgantown and Lester Williams of Alliance, Ohio; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and her extended family and friends of the Madison Rehab and Nursing Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph Williams, Howard Williams, and Archie Williams; a step-brother, Ross Brookover and a step-sister, Agnes McDougal.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 2-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Thursday with the Rev. Clara Peggs officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Herman Cemetery at Knob Fork.
