Glenda Jean Sweeney (Fletcher), 62, passed away peacefully on the evening of February 21st, 2026, in Pittsburgh. Born July 26th, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio, Glenda was the beloved daughter of the late Rosemary Saunders Fletcher and James Eugene Fletcher. Though born in Ohio, she was raised in Jake's Run, West Virginia, along with her seven siblings. Glenda worked at the Mon Health Medical Center for multiple years. Then she was briefly a caregiver. She was also a loving mother, sister, nana, and an amazing person who was a friend to all.

Glenda will be survived by her long-time partner and soulmate, whom she shared 22 years with, Robert Marshall and their dog Cooper. She is also survived by her daughters, Stephanie Bice, and Autumn Sweeney, as well as her stepdaughters, Brandi Mills, and Stefani Raber. Eight grandchildren — Claudia, Dale, Addison, Averie, Maddux, Prescott, Laney, and Carson, whom she loved very much!

She is also survived by her siblings: Diane Braun and husband Jerry Braun; Patricia Tennant and husband Lindsay Tennant; and Ronald Fletcher, along with many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and others who loved her dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Randy Fletcher, Herbert Fletcher, and Harold Fletcher. Also her sister Virginia Tennant (Fletcher).

She was the glue of the family and life of the party. The one who could gather everyone together and make it feel easy and fun. Her laugh, her jokes, her wit, her warmth, and her way of seeing life plain and true will be missed greatly. Glenda leaves behind a family, one that’s bigger and better because of her. If there were only a few things she taught her family, it was to love big, look out for one another, gather often, give second chances, laugh loud, live life to the fullest, and never take a moment for granted. She will be missed more than words can say.

In lieu of a funeral, there will be a celebration of life on March 28th, 2026. It will be held from 12-4 pm, at the Jakes Run Assembly of God Church, at 1383 Jakes Run Road, Fairview, West Virginia. Glenda’s family would like to have pot luck, so if you could bring a dish, to celebrate in true Glenda fashion, it’d be greatly appreciated.

The Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV is in charge of arrangements.
