Harold (Bud) Cosgray, loving husband of Janice Cosgray, passed away December 8, 2014 at Washington Hospital, Washington, PA. He was the son of the late Earl and Amy Cosgray. A resident of Burton, WV, he had previously lived in the Canonsburg, PA for over 30 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Darla Zimmerman and her husband Don of South Daytona, Florida and his son Buck Cosgray and his wife Rose of Claysville, PA. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Dallas Cosgray, and Eric and Jeremy Zimmerman and his four great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He also considered John and Chuck Thomas as his second sons.

Bud was a veteran of the United States Army. He served his country with great honor and was proud to have worn his country’s uniform.

He also was an accomplished baseball player who was invited to try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers but went to the Army instead.

He coached baseball in the Canonsburg Youth Baseball League for many years and was fondly remembered by all of the kids he coached and talked about them frequently.

Bud’s last passion was his work. He was an employee of Columbia Gas of PA for 34 years. He was a heavy equipment operator.

As all will know, the deer, turkey, and trout are safe now. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also greatly enjoyed watching his grandson, Dallas, play sports.

Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home, 2678 Hornet Highway, Hundred, WV from 2-4 & 7-9 PM Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 AM Friday with the Evangelist Dick Bartrug officiating.
