Harry J. Taylor, 95, of Jollytown Community, New Freeport, PA died Sunday, October 30, 2016 in the Madison Center in Morgantown, WV.
He was born July 31, 1921 at Jollytown, a son of the late Harry Jackson Taylor and Ida Jones Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was a retired laborer in the steel mills. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Jollytown United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons and their spouses, Lynn Taylor of New Freeport, PA and James Taylor and his wife Susan of Holbrook; one daughter and a son-in-law, Karen Perry and her husband James of Parma, Ohio; one sister, Leona Tennant of Holbrook, PA; four grandchildren, Robert Taylor, Amy Tuttle, Tara Taylor, and Anna Perry; six great-grandchildren, Grayson Taylor, Meredith Taylor, Sydney Hoyle, Addie Tuttle, Ava Tuttle, and Casey Burford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Harry Glenn Taylor; one brother, Charles Taylor; six sisters, Marjorie Kelley, Fern Thomas, Imogene Phillips, Gail Hennen, Louise Carter, and Grace Wise; and a daughter-in-law, Jackie Taylor.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, WV from 6-9 PM Wednesday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 PM Thursday with Evangelist Mike Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in the Eakin Cemetery at Jollytown, PA.
