Harry Lynn Eddy, 72, of (Jakes Run Community) Fairview, died Friday, November 16, 2012 at his residence.
He was born April 27, 1940 in Core, a son of the late Jesse Eddy and Sylvia Yost Eddy.
Mr. Eddy was a retired coal miner having worked at the Consolidation Coal Company, Blacksville #2 Mine at Wana. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of American District #31 in Fairmont. He was also a lifelong farmer.
He attended the Jakes Run Assembly of God.
Surviving are three daughters and their husbands, Beth and David Stewart, Debbie and Milford Morris, and Melissa and Chad Matheny; four grandchildren, Jason Higginbotham, MiKayla Matheny, Branson Matheny, and Lacen Matheny; four brothers, Merle, Ab, Mark, and Ronnie; six sisters, Pauline Wright, Jean Spicer, Nancy Cummins, Annabel Bowser, Sara Eddy, Blanche Brantley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Roupe Eddy; an infant son, John David Eddy; five brothers, Harlan, Otis, Robert, Roy, and Garry; and three sisters, Delores Eddy, Dorothy Wise, and Betty Bowser.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 5-9 PM Sunday. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday with Pastor Rob Bennett officiating at the Eddy Chapel Cemetery on Jakes Run. Interment will follow in the Eddy Chapel Cemetery.
